What got you into CrossFit, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been doing CrossFit for 6 months now. The biggest reason I was interested in it was because I knew it would be something that would challenge me and help me set and achieve goals. I played basketball my whole life so when I was done playing I wasn’t very good at coming up with my own workouts (or even motivating myself to go to the gym.)
What was your first workout?
I can’t remember exactly but I know the first Metcon I did had burpees and I was pretty close to never coming back after that.
Any favorite movements?
Probably cleans or wall balls…
CrossFit has impacted my life in a lot of ways but I think it helps me be a better mom. It helps me set a good example of being healthy for my boys and it also gives me an hour break from them, which helps keep me sane!
What has been your favorite moment at CFT, so far?
Getting my rope climbs. (Thanks to Ken and Cruz!) They were one of the things on my list that I was pretty sure I would never be able to do. And it gave me hope that one day I’ll be able to do a pull up!
Where are you from? What do you do in your time off?
I’m from Castle Rock, Colorado. In my time off (from my kids) I like to lay in my bed and eat M&Ms while I watch trashy TV shows. But with my family I like to watch/play sports and travel!
What’s the most challenging thing you’ve ever done?
That’s a hard one. Maybe playing basketball in college because it was pretty mentally and physically draining at times.
What’s the most rewarding thing you’ve ever done?
Get married and have kids. Watching my boys do something they love or get excited from learning something new is pretty rewarding!
Name one thing that scares you, and why.
Birds and mice! And staying home alone when my husband is gone.
